No. Stax Labs is an educational tool. It gives you the tools to build and test a plan, but the decisions are always yours. We do not tell you which stocks to buy, and we do not give financial advice.

Can I lose money using these strategies?
Yes. All investing involves risk. Stax helps you reduce "unforced errors" by showing you how a strategy performed in the past, but it cannot eliminate market risk. Never invest cash you cannot afford to lose.

How reliable is backtesting?
Backtesting is the best way to see how a strategy would have handled historical crashes and booms. However, the future never looks exactly like the past. It is a powerful stress test, not a prediction of what comes next.

Why doesn't past performance guarantee future results?
Markets change. A strategy that worked during the 2020 tech boom might struggle in a high-interest-rate environment. We encourage you to keep "paper trading" to see how your strategy handles today's market.

What is backtesting in simple terms?
It means running your plan against 5 years of real market history to see how it would have done, before you risk any real cash.

Can I use pre-built templates?
Yes. You don't have to start from scratch. We offer "Starter Blueprints" based on classic investing principles that you can tweak and customize as you learn.

Do you place trades for me?
No. You are always in the driver's seat. Stax identifies the opportunities based on your rules, but you must authorize the connection to your broker to execute them.

How do you connect to my brokerage?
We connect through a secure, official link with your broker (for example Alpaca). We never see your password, and your funds stay in your own regulated brokerage account, never on Stax.

What is the safest way to start?
Paper trading. You trade in the real, live market but with no real cash. It feels exactly like the real thing, with zero financial risk while you learn.

What's a common beginner mistake you help avoid?
Emotional Trading. Most beginners buy when they're excited and sell when they're scared. Stax replaces "feelings" with "rules," helping you stick to a plan even when the market gets bumpy.
